Inside and out, The Corner Pug has the feel of a classic English pub. Colleagues meet at the bar, where the 12 beers on tap include a fine selection of English ales; couples snuggle into mahogany and leather booths for late-night bites; families come for the comfort food—Macaroni and Cheese, Shepherd's Pie, Steaks, Chops, Black Angus Burgers and Fish and Chips. 

Formerly an Elmwood neighborhood bar known as The Corner Pub, the West Hartford restaurant was remodeled, expanded and reopened in 2001 by restaurateur Ted Vetter and renamed after Vetter's pet pug, Mac.

While The Corner Pug is still a place to connect with friends and raise a pint, it's also a diner's delight.  Hearty portions prepared to order from the freshest of ingredients and a tempting daily array of blackboard specials. From kettle-made chowders and soups to steaks, burgers and chops cooked on a live-fire grill, the restaurant's talented chefs take pub fare to a whole new level.

The Corner Pug serves lunch and dinner daily, brunch on Sunday, and a late-night menu until a half-hour before closing time, which is later than at most Hartford-area restaurants.
